How are ethics relevant to your team?
Ethics are at the core of our practice with paediatric patients and their families. We are committed to providing care that is respectful, non-judgmental and supports the patient and family on their goals related to improving their overall health.
What ethical issues arise in your area?
Our intervention is family based thus ethical issues arise around decision making, informed consent and navigating care when patient goals for weight management may differ from family or caregiver goals for the patient’s weight management.
Our program not only serves local families but also families from the Region. Consistent with providing equitable care to all, we strive to provide all families access to evidence based and patient and family centered care regardless of geographical barriers.
