We’re halfway through the Team Staal contest and our contestants are doing amazingly well! With over $8,500 raised already for the Northern Cancer Fund, they’re going strong, but they need our help to really take this contest over the top.
Children ages 7-12 have signed up for the opportunity to play in an epic road hockey game (the Fountain Tire Summer Classic) featuring the Staal brothers, along with past and present NHL stars, hall-of-famers, Mackenzie Tour–PGA TOUR Canada players and TSN personalities. The TOP 3 fundraisers as of June 4 at 9 am will be guaranteed a spot on the team, with two additional contestants winning spots through ballots raised from fundraising and other participation.
And guess what? There’s still time to enter!!! Any child residing in Northwestern Ontario who’s between the ages of 7-12 can sign up. With a minimum of $20 raised, they have a shot at playing on the team. Sign up at healthsciencesfoundation.ca/teamstaal
We’ve seen some pretty heartwarming reasons why kids are vying for a spot on Team Staal. Tristan wrote on his page, “My Grammy has cancer but she still plays on the computer with me every time I see her. Help me raise money to help to find a cure for cancer.” We’ve also seen some donations from unusual sources, like the Tooth Fairy.
