Think Pink Returns!
Posted January 30, 2017
Lakehead University Athletics’ annual Think Pink Games return to the Thunderdome on Febuary 3rd as the Lakehead Women’s Volleyball and Basketball teams play to support the Northern Cancer Fund. Funds raised at these games stay in Northwestern Ontario to support breast cancer education, awareness, screening, treatment and research for the people of our community. Typically the games bring in between $4,000-$6,000.
“The Think Pink Games have been thoroughly embraced by our fans, and we’re happy we can keep the funds raised local to our community. The basketball games are part of a larger ‘Shoot for the Cure’ initiative that’s organized by the U Sports (formerly CIS) Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, with funds raised across the country to support women,” said Jon Kreiner, Women’s Basketball Head Coach. “Altogether, this initiative has raised over $1.1M since it was launched in the fall of 2007”
