Turn Up the Pink - Zumba® Masterclass & Fundraiser

	Turn Up the Pink! is a two-hour Zumba® Masterclass fundraiser for the Northern Cancer Fund. Organizers are excited to welcome Zumba® Jammer Kellie Davis from Halifax to lead the class. Everyone is welcome!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are excited to announce local Zumba® Fitness instructors are partnering with Kim Francis and the Northern Cancer Fund for Turn Up the Pink! – a two-hour Zumba® Masterclass with special guest Zumba® Jammer, Kellie Davis from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

“People in the local Zumba® community come together every year to donate their time and energy to raising money for local causes. This year we chose the Northern Cancer Fund to donate to,” said organizer Share Smith-Baxter. “In one way or another, directly or indirectly, the reality is we have all be affected by breast cancer.”

The event will take place in the gymnasium at Agnew H. Johnston Public School on Friday, October 19 from 7pm – 9pm, with music and lighting provided by 2tone Music Productions.

Proceeds will support Kim’s Chemo Kit Fundraiser – providing personal care kits for all newly diagnosed cancer patients at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre starting in 2019.

Currently fighting Breast Cancer, Kim Francis, a fitness instructor, brainstormed the idea for the kits while going through chemotherapy. The idea behind Chemo Care Kits is to show support to those beginning chemotherapy and let them know they are not alone.

 “Dance and music are great ways to unite people,” Smith-Baxter continued. “People of all fitness levels and ages are welcome to attend. The best part about Zumba is it is for everyone, no experience necessary!”

Along with two hours of awesome music and dancing, the event will have a raffle table and other ways to win amazing prizes.

The event is open to everyone. Get your tickets today and show breast cancer patients that “no one fights alone.”
