You Can Help Improve Healthcare this Christmas season
Published Friday, December 23, 2022
The joys of the holiday season seem, somehow, brighter this year. With all we’ve been through, it’s easier to find gratitude for the simpler things, including spending time together. And we want to do everything we can to help our patients be home with their families. This is made possible through the generosity of our donors. You can help.
Please consider a donation towards one of these critical pieces of equipment on our Wish List this year:
Vein Finder for Ambulatory Care - $9,591
Some people have veins that are obvious and easy to access when starting an IV. Others don’t, and in these cases a nurse may have to make multiple attempts at finding a vein for IV access. These additional pokes are painful for those patients. This new vein finder will help nurses successfully detect a vein the first time, making the process more comfortable for the patient.
ECG Machine for Cardiac Diagnostics - $22,940
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is the go-to for quick evaluation of the heart to help diagnose issues related to heart function and electrical activity. These include inflammation or enlargement of the heart, damage to the heart muscle and blood flow blockage to the heart. Quick and accurate diagnosis is essential with heart issues. This new ECG machine will be replacing an older unit, ensuring short wait times continue for patients when these tests are needed.
Two Cardiac Monitors for Endoscopy - $12,226 (each)
During clinical procedures, it is important that a patient’s heart rate, rhythms, oxygen levels and blood pressure be monitored - especially when medications are used to relax patients and make procedures more comfortable. This close monitoring helps avoid complications for patients or admission to hospital. These two new cardiac monitors are essential as they will be replacing older monitors that are getting difficult to repair.
