Lakehead Athletics Teams Unite to Support Local Cancer

Lakehead University's Women's Basketball and Volleyball teams are preparing to make an impact both on and off the court this January. The teams are hosting their annual fundraising events to support local cancer care, continuing their long-standing commitment to the Northern Cancer Fund for breast cancer.
The Women's Basketball team will tip off their "Shoot for the Cure" night on Saturday, January 18th, at 6:00 PM, while the Women's Volleyball team will take the spotlight for their "Spike for the Cure" night on Saturday, January 25th, at 6:00 PM. Both games will be held at the CJ Sanders Fieldhouse on campus.
These events are part of the Think Pink Initiative, which began in 2009 and has raised an impressive total of $90,369.67 for local cancer care over the years. Proceeds from these nights go directly to the Northern Cancer Fund, ensuring support for breast cancer patients in Northwestern Ontario.
Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $6 for students, making it an affordable night out for the family. Fans can also participate in fundraising activities during the games to further support this thoughtful initiative.
Don't miss the chance to cheer on the Thunderwolves and be part of this inspiring effort. Mark your calendars and join Lakehead Athletics for two unforgettable nights of sports and philanthropy.
