The 2nd Annual Power of Hope Curling Bonspiel Raises $37,000 for Adult Mental Health Services

The 2nd Annual Power of Hope Curling Bonspiel, held at the Fort William Curling Club on April 12 & 13, raised $37,000 for Adult Mental Health Services at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

This event brought 47 teams together for thrilling curling, contests, great food, fundraising and nightly celebrations on the Pepsi Party Zone. Guest speakers included Shaun Indian, Keynote Speaker from 2023, this year's 2024 Keynote speaker, Herbie Byerly, who spoke from personal experience about the importance of breaking the stigma for mental health and addiction and Joelle Macey, Manager of Adult Mental Health Services at the Hospital, who shared the Hospitals plans for an anti-stigma campaign.

In just two years, this event has raised an impressive $57,000 for mental health services in our community.
