Helping Ensure No One Goes Without the Cardiovascular Care They Need for a Longer, Better Life
Bringing angioplasty to Thunder Bay was just a vision in 2005 – the inaugural year of the Save a Heart Ball. Today 24/7 angioplasty is now the standard of care for Thunder Bay and the northwest region here at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre – and has been for many years.
The Resolute Save a Heart Ball is important, not only for raising funds, but for setting the tone in our community for what’s possible in the future.
First it helped bring angioplasty to Thunder Bay in 2007. Then, in 2018, Save a Heart Ball attendees helped bring vascular surgery to the Hospital. This year, momentum is building to bring cardiac surgery services here to Northwestern Ontario.
After years of missing the camaraderie of in-person events, here is your chance to dress up and enjoy a night out with your family and friends.
This year’s Resolute Save a Heart Ball is taking place Friday, October 29, 2022 at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Conference Centre. This popular gala event features an exquisite gourmet meal, fun and socializing, and dancing to live music from Viva/Undercover.
The symposium starts at 6 pm, and the dinner starts at 7 pm.
Tickets are $175, with proceeds from the evening funding the cardiovascular surgery program right here in Northwestern Ontario, keeping Our Hearts at Home.
We already have excellent health care, but cardiac surgery is really the last piece that we’re missing. Your support of the October 29th Save a Heart Ball will get us one step closer to that care becoming a reality.
To buy tickets for the Resolute Save a Heart Ball and for more information, please visit the Health Sciences Foundation at www.healthsciencesfoundation.ca/sahb or call (807) 345-4673. The deadline for tickets is fast approaching, so get your friends together and reserve your table!
From 2006-2021, this event has raised over $1,000,000 for the Northern Cardiac Fund, which has been used for upgrades to the Cardiac Catheterization Labs at the Health Sciences Centre.
