Local Artist Supports New Charity Event with Inspiring Painting

Local artist Caterina Tolone stands proudly in front of her stunning artwork, 'Paris,' which will be auctioned off to support the Northern Cardiac Fund.

The Hospital Foundation's brand new event supporting the Northern Cardiac Fund, Resolute Hearts Around the World, is fast approaching and is already two-thirds sold out. Set at the stunning Fort William Historical Park on November 2nd, this event promises to be a unique experience for all attendees.

Guests will enjoy a five-course dinner with complimentary wine pairings from various countries, culminating with a live auction featuring exclusive vacations to that country. The line-up is spectacular – Costa Rica, Mexico, a Cruise of choice, Panama, Switzerland and Italy – how fantastic is that!  All made possible due to the generosity of our loyal donors at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation! In addition to the live auction, a silent auction will offer weekend getaways and exciting travel items, all made possible by our fabulous supporters.

One of the highlights of the event will be a generous donation from local artist Caterina Tolone, a well-known Thunder Bay artist and teacher with the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board. She has always believed in using her artistic talents to give back to her community. This year's Resolute Hearts Around the World event reflects her painting ‘Paris' theme and vision. She is inspired by her travels around the world and her goal is to connect the energy of various cities and towns to the viewer. Using a variety of mixed media, textures and bright and vibrant colours that reflect the rhythm of the city, her goal is not to just paint what it looks like but also what it feels like at that moment. ‘Paris' is five feet in length and three feet high and will no doubt bring joy to the viewer and the space it is displayed in.

As Tolone notes, "This painting reflects the French expression 'Joie de Vivre,' meaning 'Joy of Life.' What better way to support the Northern Cardiac Fund?"
